About this role
Qatar Airways is looking for a highly skilled Cloud Automation Lead to join our dynamic team and lead our Infrastructure as Code (IaC) initiatives for Azure and GCP cloud environments. As a Cloud Automation Lead, you will play a crucial role in automating and managing our infrastructure while collaborating closely with the DevOps team to streamline software delivery pipelines. You will be working closely with software development and IT operations teams to ensure that the software and infrastructure are aligned to support business goals.
This role is responsible for leading the design, implementation, and management of IaC solutions for Azure, GCP and other cloud technologies. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Terraform, DevOps practices, and scripting tools, with a focus on delivering robust and scalable cloud infrastructure.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and deployment of IaC solutions for Azure and GCP.
- Ensure the reliability, scalability, and security of cloud infrastructure.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and implement best practices for cloud infrastructure.
- Develop and maintain Terraform scripts for infrastructure provisioning and management.
- Utilize scripting tools such as Shell, PowerShell, etc., to automate tasks and processes.
- Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines using DevOps principles and YAML-based configurations.
- Manage and maintain the DevOps platform, ensuring smooth and efficient operations.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members.
- Foster a collaborative team environment, encouraging open communication and knowledge sharing.
- Work closely with development, operations, and security teams to ensure seamless integration and deployment of solutions.
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to ensure the adoption of best practices.
- Work closely with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Good knowledge on container technologies such as Kubernetes, OpenShift, and Docker etc.
- Implement and manage configuration management tools for application and server configurations.
- Monitor infrastructure as code for compliance, security, and performance, and make necessary adjustments.
- Participate in capacity planning, disaster recovery planning, and cost management efforts.
- Continuously identify opportunities for optimizing infrastructure through automation and improvements to IaC scripts.
- Stay updated with emerging IaC and DevOps trends and technologies, and make recommendations for adoption where applicable.
