The Payroll and Travel Administrative Assistant coordinates travel logistics for employees to include booking commercial flights, hotels, and car rentals, as well as ensuring adherence to travel policies and managing expense reporting for travel events. Key responsibilities include planning large/complex travel itineraries, coordinating with vendors, ensuring compliance with government regulations, and resolving issues that arise during travel detachments. The role requires strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills, as well as familiarity with travel booking systems and relevant regulations, such as Department of Defense (DoD) travel policies.
Additional duties include ordering office supplies and materials, preparing and maintaining spreadsheets, databases, or other software files. Answers, screens, and directs incoming telephone calls. Organizes and maintains departmental personnel files. Prepares and ships outgoing mail. Assists with weekly payroll processing for accurate reporting and other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualification:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Five years of travel administrion job-related experience or equivalent.
- Requires advanced capability operating application software including word-processing and spreadsheet programs.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain Secret Clearance.
- Payroll experience is preferred
- Must have a valid drivers license.
Office environment is aboard military installation within Aircraft Hangar. Occasional lifting to 20 pounds must possess planning/organizational skills and be able to work under pressure and deadlines.
