Responsibilities:
Provide engineering support for electrical systems across buildings, utility systems, and equipment installations, including central distribution and self-contained facilities.
Diagnose causes of asset failures or capacity reduction using reliability tools such as root cause analysis, fault tree analysis, and condition-based maintenance.
Analyze current infrastructure conditions and future requirements to recommend capital improvements aligned with operational goals.
Translate customer needs into design solutions, estimating costs and identifying appropriate materials, equipment, and services.
Support conceptual and preliminary design efforts, including building code research and development of design elements.
Prepare project drawings, specifications, and permit application packages, ensuring alignment with engineering standards and legal regulations.
Ensure design compliance with applicable building codes and construction practices for electrical systems.
Review contractor proposals, track construction progress, and evaluate vendor performance in coordination with government and regulatory agencies.
Maintain up-to-date drawing archives by validating contractor redlines and as-built documentation.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering from an accredited program.
Typically 2+ years of engineering experience, or equivalent combination of education and relevant work.
Experience interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, schematics, and specifications.
4+ years of experience supporting medium and low-voltage electrical systems in industrial or manufacturing environments.
Hands-on experience with substation and switchgear maintenance and repair.
Preferred Qualifications
5+ years in an engineering, facilities, or maintenance role within industrial/manufacturing settings.
Experience with electrical utility service providers and evaluating facility lighting systems.
Familiarity with building automation systems (BAS), control systems, and energy management systems.
