Pratt & Whitney’s GTF MRO Engine Center in West Palm Beach is looking for an experienced Powerplant Engineer to provide support in repair process development, and manufacturing operations support functions as engines are inducted into, and progress through the shop.  The person in this role will ensure a smooth Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (MRO) process, while working to meet external and internal customer expectations for quality, cost, and delivery timeline commitments.

What You Will Do:

  • Develop operational work scopes per West Palm Beach Maintenance Repair Overhaul (WPB MRO) requirements in accordance with engine maintenance program (EMP), customer specific work scopes (SMI), “As-received” induction results, existing service bulletins and approved deviations.

  • Address customer inquiries as it pertains to work scope determination and approval.

  • Address in process findings effects on work scope.

  • Communicate new technical data and inspection methods to operations to reduce shop cost and improve engine TAT.

  • Identify hardware failure modes that impact shop cost and TAT. Work with supporting network teams to drive solutions.

  • Comply with all government regulations, regulatory requirements, company policies, repair station procedures and work instructions including Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) and International Trade Compliance requirements.

  • Support and utilize continuous improvement activities to improve internal shop performance and efficiencies.

  • Exercise influential leadership to support team of production Power Plant Engineers through shop cost and turn around time initiatives.

Qualifications You Must:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 8 years of experience in Engineering, Aerospace, Manufacturing or Aviation industry; OR Advanced Degree and 5 years of relevant experience.

  • Experience in the industry of jet engine design, assembly, or test

  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract 

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Bachelor’s degree in STEM field; Engineering preferred

  • Advanced knowledge and experience working with gas turbine engines particularly in an FAA Repair Station MRO environment

  • Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) license, FAA repairmen’s certificate, or equivalent

  • Ability to interpret of ATA 100 technical manuals

  • Organizational and project management skills, PMP certification preferred

  • Continuous Improvement experience such as LEAN, continuous improvement, or Six-Sigma training

  • Experience working with MS Office, SAP ERP, and Solumina G7 MES

  • Prior experience with Pratt & Whitney PW1000 Geared Turbo Fan Engine

  • Ability to communicate at all levels of the organization and motivate teams to achieve business goals

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.

Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee’s personal responsibility.

The salary range for this role is 101,000 USD - 203,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
