Delta continually looks to new technologies to advance its customer experiences. This role offers an excellent chance to join an IT team that is leading the way in a new digital and API platform for our online systems. The Senior Technical Product Engineer does the business analyst role in supporting and enabling business change by eliciting requirements from business owners and internal IT customers, performing necessary analysis, and documenting changes to ensure successful project implementation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Business and IT teams to document requirements, develop functional specifications, and ensure alignment with project goals and timelines.
  • Gather, develop, coordinate, and maintain business requirements for various projects/systems from initial phase to final implementation, ensuring standards are met.
  • Troubleshoot, coordinate, and maintain production systems/programs/applications.
  • Maintain and communicate project status reports and tracking.
  • Provide efficient project processes and deliverables to shorten the project life cycle, where applicable.
  • Work with application support and development teams to fix software bugs and escalated issues.
  • Coordinate resolution of issues with interfacing systems built on different technologies.
  • Facilitate meetings with internal team and project stakeholders
  • and participate in regular project status reviews.
  • Convert high-level User Requirements into executable, detailed User Stories to enable development.
  • Create and maintain the product backlog.
  • Conduct planning sessions with teams to prioritize work in upcoming sprints.
  • Engage directly and daily with delivery teams to execute the project.
  • Ensure product acceptance and readiness at key phases of the delivery cycle.
  • Develop communication materials and lead communication efforts around the product, priorities, and future roadmaps.
  • Attend and lead design sessions with the product team.

What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)

  • At least 3 years’ experience in a Business Analyst role
  • Demonstrated experience with Agile practices and use of tools such as Jira, Trello, Asana, or Digital.ai Agility.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft products such as Excel, PowerPoint, and Power BI for data analysis, visualization, and reporting.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and customer focus.
  • Embraces learning new technologies.
  • Effectively and professionally communicate with management, internal staff, and customers, demonstrating sound judgment and reasoning skills.
  • Ability to work independently to achieve exceptional results.
  • Deliver quality work on time and translate planning into action by following established procedures or methodologies.
  • Ability to work well within tight deadlines and prioritize effectively.
  • This role is located at Delta headquarters in Atlanta, GA. Office attendance is required, but remote work is also supported.
  • Consistently prioritizes safety and security of self, others, and personal data.
  • Embraces diverse people, thinking, and styles.
  • Possesses a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency.
  • Is at least 18 years of age and has authorization to work in the United States.
What will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications)

  • Experience in the Airline domain
  • Experience with APIs used in business-critical applications.
  • Experience in Cloud services (especially AWS)
  • Experience with z/TPF mainframe.
