Summary:

Responsibilities:
- May provide technical supervision, training, set-up, tool adjustment, trouble shooting, etc., support to others
- May act as Team Leader in Team Leader’s absence and demonstrate leadership
- Independently sets up, adjusts, troubleshoots and checks out programs
- Operates all standard axis (3 Lathe, 4 Mill) numerically controlled machine tools to perform a complex series of progressive machining operations on a diversified line of work to close and exacting tolerances and finish specifications requiring a high degree of skill
- Setups involve familiarity with and understanding of program formats involving combinations of operations such as milling, boring, recessing, turning, drilling, threading, screw machine operation, etc., to the capacity of the machine and control factor
- Works from program, operation sheets, and machine setup instructions, may work from verbal instructions of hand drawings
- Self-sufficient with all aspects of machine set up on machines within their area of responsibility axis (2 Lathe, 3 Mill)
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent; Machining Certificate preferred
Experience:
- 5+ of machining experience in a manufacturing environment
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
- Able to prescribe an appropriate inspection method based on a wide range of GD&T callouts
- Proficient in use of shop math
- Provide technical supervision/training to less experienced team members
- Work independently, no supervision
- Ability to troubleshoot programing and process issues
- Has working knowledge of the relationship between federate and surface finish, as well as surface speed to material type, of most standard aerospace materials
- Familiar with operating of live tooling and sub-spindle machines and can set-up and operate as required
- Performs setups on multi-axis CNCs within established time standards
