Job Summary
As an AOG (Aircraft on Ground) Maintenance Technician, you will play a critical role in minimizing aircraft downtime by providing fast and effective maintenance solutions for aircraft requiring immediate attention. This position demands a highly skilled and detail-oriented professional with the ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair complex aircraft systems under time-sensitive conditions. You will work in a dynamic, on-call environment, often traveling on short notice to domestic locations. The role requires flexibility, adaptability, and a commitment to maintaining the highest safety and compliance standards.
Summary of Essential Duties
- Ensure safety and compliance are the first considerations in the performance of maintenance.
- Maintain or repair aircraft, aircraft engines, and components according to specifications.
- Perform in-process inspections on aircraft components as required.
- Document maintenance procedures to include component damage, component origin, and condition of component, components or equipment.
- Performance of daily scheduled and non-scheduled inspections, maintenance, repair and alterations of aircraft.
- Troubleshoot defective aircraft systems and components in an effective manner.
- Performs special projects and other duties as assigned or required
- Other duties as assigned by management.
- In the event there is no active AOG aircraft you will be used in the operation where help is needed i.e. (Outstation coverage, assisting other mechanics with routine maintenance etc.) until an AOG event.
- Be prepared to work long shifts, including up to 16-hour days, to meet operational demands and minimize aircraft downtime.
Work Environment:
- Airport ramp/warehouse environment, subject to varied weather conditions including hot or cold weather.
- Exposed to noise and vibrations when testing engines on a weekly basis.
Physical Requirements:
- Frequent stooping, bending, kneeling.
- Standing on feet for extended periods of time
- Handle objects up to 70 pounds regularly, up to 100+ pounds occasionally, with assistance from co-workers or tools.
- Able to use stairs, scaffolding, and/or ladders of varying heights without assistance.
- Occasionally exposed to cramped workspaces that require getting into awkward positions.
- Able to work varying schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays. Shifts could be scheduled from 8 to 10 hours or more.
- Regularly wear protective gear, such as gloves or earmuffs.
