The Aircraft Mechanic is responsible for performing maintenance, inspection, and repair activities on aircraft and related systems to ensure continued airworthiness and operational safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on aircraft, including line maintenance and heavy maintenance activities
- Conduct inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs on aircraft structures, systems, and components
- Diagnose faults and determine appropriate corrective actions
- Remove, repair, replace, and reinstall aircraft components, including:
- engines
- landing gear
- flight control systems
- hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- fuel systems
- Perform functional and operational tests to verify system performance and compliance with specifications
- Interpret and apply technical documentation, including:
- aircraft maintenance manuals (AMM)
- illustrated parts catalogs (IPC)
- service bulletins (SB)
- airworthiness directives (AD)
- Complete and maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation in accordance with regulatory requirements
- Ensure all maintenance activities comply with:
- Transport Canada Civil Aviation (TCCA) regulations (CARs)
- company procedures and quality standards
- Maintain a safe and organized work environment in accordance with health and safety policies
Compliance & Work Standards
- Ensure all work performed meets airworthiness standards and applicable regulatory requirements
- Support quality assurance processes and internal audits
Qualifications
- Relevant experience in aircraft maintenance (line and/or heavy maintenance)
- Strong knowledge of aircraft mechanical systems
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics
- Solid troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, safety-critical environment
