Summary:
Work in a team-oriented production environment performing structural assembly operations under moderate supervision.
Assemble and fit detail parts/structures; perform drilling, riveting, and sheetmetal operations to FAA, customer, and quality standards
Rivet structural assemblies using tools such as pneumatic guns, drills, countersinks, rivet shavers, and reamers
Read and interpret work orders, blueprints, lofts, sketches, and operation sheets to determine sequence and rivet patterns
Align and assemble parts using jigs, fixtures, clamps, and fasteners
Inspect and ensure assemblies are defect-free before final inspection
Maintain accurate logs/records (MIR sheets, DMTs, Crabs, PCOs); enter labor in resource planning system
Support Lean and 5S activities; maintain a safe, clean, and orderly work area
Participate in continuous improvement activities (Kaizen, YIAW, etc.)
Care for and maintain tools/equipment as assigned
Perform other duties as required
Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED required
1+ year structural assembly experience (credit given for Savannah Tech Aircraft Structures Technical Certificate Program graduates)
Experience with Solumina and Smarteam preferred
Must be able to lift 50 lbs, work any shift, climb ladders/stairs/stands, and work in small/restricted spaces
Ability to read/write/speak English
Basic knowledge of aircraft structures, sheetmetal, composites, and fabrication processes
Ability to read/interpret blueprints and 6" scale; perform basic shop math
Basic computer skills
Strong attention to detail, professional attitude, teamwork skills, and ability to meet demanding schedules
Demonstrated good housekeeping and safety practices
Must be a U.S. Citizen (as defined by ITAR).
