STS Technical Services is actively hiring experienced Welders / Fitters to join the team at Cutting Edge Fabrication in Brookfield, Wisconsin. This is a direct hire opportunity offering competitive pay and full benefits.
Position Summary:
Cutting Edge Fabrication is a leader in producing medium to large complex metal weldments for the transportation, defense, and aerospace industries. With new ownership and a revitalized leadership team, the company is investing in growth and looking for individuals who are passionate about continuous improvement and take pride in their work.
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Welder / Fitter who can take ownership of assigned projects and ensure precision, quality, and on-time completion. You’ll work with a variety of materials and fabrication techniques in a dynamic, safety-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform open table setups
- Fit and weld precut and formed components to tight tolerances
- Execute MIG welding using solid, metal-core, and flux-core wires
- Weld to AWS and ASME standards
- Produce fabrications to blueprint specifications
- Maintain a high standard of quality across all work
- Collaborate with the team and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement
- Take on additional duties as needed
Qualifications:
- At least 3 years of fitting and welding experience
- Proficient with various materials including heavy plate, manganese, stainless, AR, alloy, and aluminum
- Hands-on experience with hand plasma, torch, squares, grinders, turnbuckles, and related tools
- Comfortable operating overhead cranes
- TIG, arc, and oxy-fuel welding experience is a plus
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and weld symbols
- Strong attention to detail and precision
- Clear verbal communication and good interpersonal skills
- Willing to work overtime when needed
- Strong team mindset and a commitment to craftsmanship
