THE WORK

Key member of the USW Business Development team in Syracuse, NY responsible for the spanet analysis and early opportunity identification across the Acoustic Sensors business development portfolio. Plans and executes new business and program growth activities including opportunity assessment, capture management, competitive assessment and positioning, teaming/subcontracting strategy, and customer relationship development. Coordinates with other internal functional departments that are identifying/implementing business development projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying resource requirements, capture strategies and spaneting plans for new international growth pursuits. Communicates plans with senior management and represents Lockheed Martin in key customer, subcontractor and teaming meetings.

The candidate should be familiar with Acoustic Sensors and Sonar Systems (surface and submarines), submarine weapon systems, submarine combat subsystems (Imaging, Navigation, Radar, ESM, etc) and combat system integration. The candidate will be responsible to expand domestic footprint and extend USW products into international spanets and emerging unmanned platform mission area, develop and execute call plans and work very closely with the USW Program Office and technical teams to execute the strategy. This position has responsibility for business development and program growth initiatives Acoustic Sensor programs. The business is based in Syracuse, NY.

Responsible for planning and execution of new business and program growth activities including opportunity assessment, capture management, competitive assessment and positioning, teaming/subcontracting strategy, and customer relationship development. Identifies resource requirements for new business and program growth pursuits. Communicates plans with senior management. Coordinates with other internal departments that are identifying/implementing business development projects. Represents Lockheed Martin in key customer meetings and subcontractor/team mate meetings. Ability to manage multiple efforts simultaneously is required. Ideal candidate will have an understanding of, and operational experience with, USN acquisition programs and customers.

Basic Qualifications:
Candidate must have insight to the competitive landscape of the undersea industry and demonstrated ability to assess approaches and likely strategies.

• Understanding of Acoustic Sensors and Weapons spanet segment
• Experience in the torpedo spanet familiar with Heavyweight and Lightweight torpedoes (MK 48 and MK 54)
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in Capture, BD, or related experience
• Experience in capture management
• Portfolio management of numerous critical pursuits in a large new business pipeline
• Experience in strategic planning, financial analysis, and teaming
• Experience in milestone/EPP process; to include opportunity identification, developing business cases, and capture execution
• Business acumen, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, reliability, and sound judgment
• Execute New Business Updates that align with the USW and higher-level New Business Reviews.
• The ability to develop strategy, IRP, and LRP, coordinating through F&BO, P&L, engineering and other required functional areas
• Partner with LMGA, Global Business Development & Strategy, CETO, Corporate Treasury, and others as required
• Ability to rapidly respond to changing environments
• Demonstrates strong leadership skills
• Diplomatic, persuasive, and articulate communication style and presentation skills to establish and maintain rapport with internal and external customers / partners.

• Strong understanding of Acoustic Sensors and Weapons Undersea spanet and associated customer sets
• Experience in leading teams with backgrounds in Program Management, Capture Excellence

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Washington or Washington DC is $109,200 - $192,510. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidates work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as spanet and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
This position is incentive plan eligible.
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California and New York is $125,600 - $217,695.
