Summary Plan, organize, manage, and schedule all facilities and personnel in the Dunkirk Plant on incumbents assigned shift with emphasis on maintenance and proper operation of equipment. Essential Functions The position incumbent is responsible for organization, planning, supervising, and scheduling all facilities on his assigned shift as well as the motivation and control of all employees therein. Incumbent must make optimum use of material, machinery, and manpower in an environment which has many variables and changes that are sometimes difficult to anticipate. Additional Responsibilities Ø Manage plant maintenance functions as required to assure proper operation of equipment with particular emphasis on the maintenance and operation of the Dunkirk Plant press. Ø Train operators and other shift foremen in the proper use of equipment controls to reduce downtime, prevent machine damage, reduce maintenance costs, and produce quality products. Ø Manage plant production facilities on incumbents assigned shift employing standard operating practices (SOP’s) to produce forged products to proper specifications and designs at the required costs and yields which meet the needs of the annual business plan and the needs of our customers. Ø Schedule production through all stages of manufacturing to meet delivery and quality requirements of all customers. Ø Schedule manpower requirements. Ø Provide leadership and direction to the workforce in order to assure accuracy and reliability of the product produced in the most efficient manner. Ø Plan details of working requirements to determine and maintain required production tooling and other production related inventory items. Ø Select logical approach to trouble shooting plant technical and administrative problems. Ø Perform other administrative duties as required. Ø Help build a strong quality culture throughout the organization that will result in individual and group pride in doing the job right the first time and a quality system based on modern methods of statistical quality control. Ø Manage the facilities to provide a safe, clean environment that meets internal and external standards for health, safety, and effective personnel and labor relations. Education and Experience A two year degree in technical or industrial maintenance discipline or equivalent experience is required. Must have 3-5 years’ experience practicing technical skills in Maintenance planning, Reliability centered maintenance, CMMS, Microsoft office, Job planning, Hydraulics and electrical troubleshooting, and Root cause analysis. Solid Maintenance or reliability experience required. Specific course work that is highly desirable – Maintenance Planning, Reliability Centered Maintenance, A CMMS training certificate. Special Skills Computer literacy is a requirement. Ability to interface with any person in the organization. Organizational skills and attention to detail are critical. Reliable attendance and good communication skills are essential.
