Job Description:
The Facilities Project Manager (FPM) will oversee the day-to-day operations for construction projects associated with commercial infrastructure. The FPM will work with site representatives and internal/external design engineers to develop all requirements associated with a project. FPM shall assist with presenting a list of qualified contractors to bid the various components of the project, develop project specifications & drawings, and provide a complete competitive bidding package to the GE Aerospace Sourcing Team. Upon award of bids, the FPM will be responsible for project organization, GE Aerospace compliance, scheduling, day-to-day compliance with the specifications & drawings, GE Aerospace & OSHA safety regulations, change order management, invoice approvals, and final budget through the completion of the project.

Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for managerial and administrative aspects of multiple projects simultaneously
  • Responsible for completing the bidding process from beginning to end, which includes request for proposals, specification & drawing development, bid walks, and vendor selection
  • Oversee all onsite construction to monitor compliance with federal, state & local codes & regulations
  • Clear understanding of OSHA & safety procedures relating to construction
  • Prepare reports pertaining to job status, schedule and budget
  • Responsible for minimizing budget change orders
  • Work with customers early in the process to facilitate the design process with the chosen design/construction professionals
  • Ensure that an accurate and complete estimate for the project is prepared
  • Participate in the proposal meeting with the customer to review the scope of work, discuss ways to reduce costs, and provide valuable cost-effective concepts
  • Review and maintain a historical database of estimation costs associated with past projects for budget/manpower assessments
  • Remain cost conscious and aware of every aspect of the project

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university (or a high school diploma/GED with a minimum of 4 years facilities experience) + minimum of 5 years construction/facilities project management experience
