Abrams Tank Maintenance Mechanic

Contract Position

$29.49/Hour

Join a team dedicated to designing and producing armored combat and support vehicles. As a prime mover in ground force capabilities, this firm provides innovative solutions that ensure the safety and effectiveness of military personnel worldwide, focusing on durability, mobility, and performance.

Responsibilities:

• Support maintenance tasks for Abrams Fleet Vehicles (M1A1ED, M1A2SEP V2, M104, HAB) and other tracked/wheeled vehicles

• Provide technical input for maintenance scheduling, planning, and best practices

• Assist Field Service Representatives in diagnosing and resolving mechanical issues

• Perform duties assigned by maintenance leadership in accordance with military standards

• Maintain accountability of tools and property assigned

• Adhere to all shop and field safety procedures and protocols

• Travel to military bases and field sites within the U.S. to support vehicle maintenance operations

Qualifications:

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent

• Experience: Minimum 1 year of Abrams Tank maintenance experience

• Clearance/Access: Must be able to gain access to U.S. military bases and meet anthropometric entry requirements for enclosed military vehicles

• Certifications & Licenses:

  • Valid State Driver’s License

  • Ability to obtain a tank driver’s license, if required

• Technical Skills:

  • Mechanical maintenance of tracked/wheeled military vehicles

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Applications

  • Understanding of customer relationships in a military support environment

• Physical Requirements:

  • Lift and carry up to 50 pounds

  • Work at heights and in confined spaces

  • Climb, kneel, stoop, and bend

  • Work in extreme temperatures and field conditions
