Synopsis
Aircraft & Ground Technologies Officer reports to the Manager Aircraft & Ground Technologies. The Aircraft & Ground Technologies Officer is responsible for administering the EFB contents in both formats Portable and Fixed Systems (on-board) within Etihad - Flight Operations performing 24X7 operational shift duties.
Accountabilities
- Ensure that hardware and software applications are configured in accordance with applicable requirements and that their output complies with regulations.
- Maintain profound working knowledge of the EFB systems hardware, operating system and installed software applications.
- Perform Quality Control function by the routine monitoring of the EFB system and its administration.
- Visit aircraft onboard systems regularly to manage EFB configuration and support queries from Engineering (MCC & LM).
- Liaise with Subject Matter Experts of all applications and datasets to ensure that EFB is always serviced with updated and accurate standards and datasets.
- Ensure that only valid versions of Loadable Software Airplane Part (LSAP) are installed on the EFB system.
- Manage data update cycles and ensure that the updates are always completed on or before the cut-over date.
- Provide support to Manager EFB – Aircraft and Ground Technologies in evaluating and implementing new EFB technologies and enhancements within the Etihad Fleet.
- Must be able to work with minimum supervision in a fast-paced environment.
Education & Experience
- Educated to a minimum of high school certification
- University Degree is preferable
- Minimum 3-4 years’ experience in administering an EFB back-office setup of an international airline.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills required.
- Possess a valid driving license.
- Must pass Security Clearance (wherever required).
