Position Summary:
We’re looking for a self-starting Applications Developer II with a minimum of 3 years of experience with software development, database scripting, report creation and business decision support in a heavy industrial manufacturing environment and significant experience with a combination of ASP.Net-centric web application development, custom software development, mobile application development, ERP systems integrations (ETL/ELT) and general, Windows-based applications. The Programmer Analyst is a critical member of our IT team, joining a highly capable and knowledgeable group of professionals deeply vested in our shared achievement and success as the IT organization continues to make advances toward modernizing aerospace manufacturing systems and processes in the US and abroad. The Programmer Analyst II will support many lines of business, with duties including direct technical engagements, application development, integration and customization tasks, and the open exchange and exploration of ideas with team members.
This position reports directly to the Manager of Applications Development and must be able to work both independently and in collaboration with team members from other technical disciplines and business units. Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
• Be the IT systems development point for one or more lines of business supporting plant applications, automation, integrations, and other business systems.
• Collaborate with application developers, data engineers and infrastructure architects to identify, define and depict compelling technical solutions using modern, sustainable technologies.
• Engage with business and technical stakeholders to review and act on detailed system specifications to enhance applications that support business and manufacturing processes within the facility.
• Develop technical solutions and proposals for business acceptance
• Assist with coordination and training of end-users on software test case creation and end-user testing execution.
• Assist with documentation of application functionality, to include technical specifications, use-cases, and workflow processes.
• Support and implement Corporate and Division data governance and master data initiatives
• Ensure application of company compliance, safety, environmental, governmental policies, and regulations to all business systems and solutions
Required Skills:
• Minimum 3 years’ experience as a developer or developer/analyst
• Must be self-managed and able to set and meet goals, requirements, milestones, and deadlines without direct oversight
• Able to communicate effectively with business in a professional and friendly manner
• Able to work both independently and as a productive member of teams collaborating on parallel projects
Experience & Education
• Bachelor&39;s degree in computer science, information systems, manufacturing/industrial engineering and or related studies (or equivalent project-related experience)
• Good knowledge of SDLC, Agile methods and project management principles
• Technical proficiency and well-rounded experience in full-stack development and data management technologies: C.Net, SQL, XML, HTML, CSS, React or Angular, Forms/Reports, Web Services, Python, SFTP, REST API and Power BI.
• Working knowledge of VB.Net, VBA, VB6 is a plus.
• Experience developing solutions in R Studio is a plus.
• Experience developing solutions that leverage AWS Lambda, AWS Cognito, and AWS Aurora is a plus
• Cloud certifications a plus.
Working Conditions:
• Up to 25 of travel may be required to attend team meetings, to support engagements at more distant locations or for training
Physical Requirements:
• Must be able to sit and work in an office environment for extended periods of time
• Will be required to conduct system analysis and troubleshooting in shop floor environments
• Must be able to work in a manufacturing environment containing hazardous machinery
• Must be able to wear all required Personal Protective Equipment
