Instructor/Developer, Technical Operations
Job Description:

Purpose: We are seeking an experienced and dynamic individual to join our team as a Technical Operations Designer/Instructor responsible for ensuring that regulatory and company training requirements are met. The design, development, and delivery of this material must meet the highest learning standards for Technical Operations Crewmembers. This will include initial company indoctrination training, continuing education training sessions and any other training material to close performance gaps. This position plays a vital role to the safety of customers and Crewmembers, and the airworthiness of our aircraft. The Instructor/Developer serves as a key influencer and mentor to others within Technical Operations. They proactively stay current with learning trends and share resources and learning with others on the team when designing and instructing.

Responsibilities:

  • Determine and document the detailed design needs and required learning content for assigned curriculum to be developed in Computer Based Training (CBT) format.
  • Provide design expertise for learning solutions to key stakeholders.
  • Partner with leadership team to translate detailed design specs into learning content and experiences appropriate for targeted audiences.
  • Identify learning and performance objectives to meet the business and learner needs.
  • Convert complex topics and simplify into digestible learning experiences that will support business objectives.
  • Work closely with Learning Partners to develop CBTs to meet the learner needs.
  • Remain current with learning trends and learning design theories.
  • Ensure content development strategy, design standards, and future planning efforts align with learning solution design.
  • Ensure quality and accurate scheduled training.
  • Forecast, coordinate, and schedule all training requirements to maintain training efficiencies.
  • Enroll and monitor contracted maintenance personnel in the company Learning Management System (LMS) to ensure compliance.
  • Ensure recurrent training is scheduled prior to expiration of qualifications.
  • Maintain and develop training material/courses.
  • Monitor and update company training material and course to meet industry standards.
  • Develop training material to keep Crewmembers engaged in learning.
  • Review company publications and guidelines to keep training current.
  • Deliver training courses as described in the Maintenance Training Manual.
  • Remain current in all company standards and provide training when necessary.
  • Ensure the quality and accuracy of training documentation for all Crewmembers.
  • Document all training to all crewmembers as described in the Maintenance Training Manual.
  • Oversee the integrity and accuracy of all maintenance training documentation and required entries in the Computer Based Tracking System.
  • Participate in the Safety Management System (SMS) Program.
  • Support safety promotion, quality, and safety culture.
  • Report safety-related issues to Leadership thru the Safety Reporting system.

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, education, instructional design, or equivalent experience preferred
  • 5+ years in instructional design
  • Knowledge of adult learning principles
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Experience designing learning within multiple modalities (e.g., ILT, eLearning, video, job aids, etc.)
  • Ability to cultivate/build relationships and work collaboratively with internal partners and external vendors.
  • Advanced degree in adult education, instructional technology, or equivalent experience and certification(s) (e.g., Designing Learning certificate or CPLP)
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and quality-focused
  • Experience with Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and other related computer programs
  • Experience with iSpring, Articulate or other related programs.
  • Ability to travel to Avelo Facilities up to 10 of time.

X-Factors:

  • Project management experience
  • Experience with ADDIE, SAM, or other rapid design methodologies
  • Experience with Waterfall and Agile project management methodologies
  • Certificated Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) License

May perform other responsibilities as assigned. Responsibilities and duties may change when circumstances dictate. (e.g., emergencies, changes in workload, rush jobs or technical developments)
